Visitors to the biggest Japanese cultural pageant in North America, taking place this weekend in Mississauga, may have loads of scrumptious Asian food dishes to choose from as more than 20 distributors might be on website.

To be exact, 21 food distributors will set up at Celebration Square in the city’s downtown core for the huge two-day Japan Festival Canada that runs Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 20-21).

Hosted just about the last two years because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Japan Festival Canada returns to the square for a weekend of enjoyable, food, tradition and an exciting leisure lineup.

Festival organizers, who hope this weekend’s turnout will top the 90,000 visitors who attended in 2019, say the following 21 food distributors are confirmed for the event:

  • Neo Coffee Bar
  • Ryu’s Noodle Bar
  • GUSHI
  • Happy Twist Inc.
  • Shao Bing Ge
  • Ichifuku Ramen
  • EDO Japanese Restaurant
  • Fisherman’s Plaice Fish and Chips
  • Crafty Ramen
  • Uncle Tetsu’s Japanese Cheesecake
  • Bao Bar
  • Chun Wing Trading
  • Fuwa Fuwa Pancakes
  • Cheese Garden
  • Eggette Hut
  • Fried Chicken and Grill Squids
  • Golden Bubbles
  • BBQ Skewers and Oysters
  • Poke Poke Mississauga
  • Happeace

Organizers say the festival’s objective, simply stated, is to “introduce and promote real Japanese meals, tradition and technologies.”

They add that after two years of internet hosting the festival just about, they’re wanting forward to returning to an in-person, reside event within the coronary heart of the downtown core.

Japan Festival Canada, first held in 2016, additionally seeks to further enhance Canadian-Japanese relations, organizers note.

To that end, they add, the competition will present “…exciting leisure corresponding to traditional and trendy performances, popular culture stage performances, in addition to scrumptious Japanese foods and much more.”
